The Boy With The Incredible Brain

Their functions of brains are unbelievable; moreover, everyone can not imitate them.

The most interesting thing for me is their brain is very intelligent, but each of them has a different personality and a function of brain.
For example, a person is good at calculation. He calculates huge and different numbers without a calculator, and he seems a normal person.
On the other hand, there is a person who is good at drawing is also called savant, but he is child alike.
In fact, savants have different personality from people in society.

I have never met that kind of people; however, I wanted to have a special brain just like them when I was in elementary school because I can take exams easily, if I have smart brain.
I do not have to suffer from studying. And I can make money easily than other people.
But I do not want to be very different from other people because we need relations between people and people to succeed in our lives.
Therefore, even if I have special brain but also strange personality, I do not want to be that kind of person.
Savants always become famous and can do special things; however, I have never heard that their kind of people gain a lot of money from their business.
We do not have to be so smart, if we emphasize happiness that having a lot of money in the future.

Health Insurance Coverage

I got a survey about health insurance coverage on www.census.gov website.

The number of people with health insurance coverage increased from 245.9 million to 247.3 million (2004- 2005); however, the percentage of people without health insurance coverage increased from 15.6 percent ( 2004) to 15.9 percent (2005).
In fact, people who are covered by employment based health insurance decrease from 59.8 percent to 59.5 percent between 2004 and 2005.

I do not know how health insurance is important because in my country, everyone has it.
And also I wonder why people with insurance increase though, there are some people without insurance with also increasing.

NOVA: Asteroid

I got to know about how Asteroid cause our lives after watching NOVA program.
Then, I was particularly interested about the relation between Asteroid and Tsunami.

If an asteroid hits in the ocean, it going to create very huge tsunami; moreover, it will destroy everything along sea such as city and human’s life.

I was wondering how we can prepare to protect our lives from disaster.
I’m going to practice swimming until asteroid is coming because I have no idea to survive this problem now.

Asteroid cause many terrible effects on the earth.
I want human to get more knowledge about asteroid and gain strong method to handle this asteroid problem immediately.

When Kids Get Life

Jacob Ind, who killed his mother and stepfather, said” there are no reasons to live.”
Erik Jensen who is an inmate in the U.S. was also interviewed, and they both seemed to have feeling deep regret for what they have done; they really looked very sad.
However, they are going to be released in the future, even if they killed somebody.
There are people who have a family, were killed by crimes.

I do not think that people can accept people who killed anyone to live as other people.
If the prison gets crimes free by the law, they do not have to handle crime as human because even though crimes do not afraid to go to prison, they will do same thing again; therefore, people who are crimes must feel that prison is like hell, and also people who work in the prison have to make crime to feel horrible in the prison.

About Me

I’m going to tell you about myself now.

My name is Yasu. I’ve been in the U.S for over a year and I’ve transferred school two times, so this school is third for me.
When I just came to the U.S., I went to other college in Mount Vernon because I have relatives who live there.

Mount Vernon, which is between Seattle and Canada Vancouver, is kind of country side; a lot of cows and horses are there.
I was bored, so I wanted to move to cityside.

Moreover, I could not speak English and I just knew words that Yes and No.
When I entered at that school, I took placement test just like when we entered at this college, but I did not answer any questions. Nothin'.
Actually, I couldn’t. I did not know all of words on the test seat, so of course I needed to take ELS level 1.

In fact, I had an English education when I was in junior high and high school. Therefore, I’d studied English for six years before coming to the U.S.
However, my major was Physical education, so I only had to do some kind of sports, even if English is essential subject in my country. I needed to study it, but basically I dozed while class because of tired from playing sports.
So I had no idea about English when I just came here.

Now I’m still taking English class. I have to improve my English in order to get out from English class.
